The General Training Reading test uses texts you might meet in daily life and at work in an English-speaking country.
The three sections
Section 1: short everyday texts such as notices, advertisements and timetables.
Section 2: workplace texts such as job descriptions, contracts and training materials.
Section 3: one longer text on a topic of general interest.
Question types
The same types as Academic Reading: True / False / Not Given, matching, multiple choice, sentence and summary completion, and short answers.
Tips
Sections 1 and 2 are usually quicker — save more time for Section 3.
Underline key words in each question before you search the text.
Copy words from the text exactly, with correct spelling.
